Ethical Energy
Overusing non-renewable energy sources such as coal creates a huge amount of pollution, which is both horrible for our health and for our environment (global warming). Furthermore overusing these non-renewable energy sources doesn't ensure our future generations because they will eventually run out. In order for us to help this situation we have to save energy. This can be done by buying energy saving light-bulbs, double glazing the windows, buying energy saving appliances and using renewable energy sources (e.g. solar) if possible.
Some examples of ethical banks are the following: The Co-operative Bank, The Charity Bank, NationWide and Triodos.

Ethical BankingEthical banks invest your money to help develop countries in need. Normal banks can invest your money wherever they feel its profitable, they may even invest in companies, which abuse the workers and/or the environment. However with ethical banks you can rest assured that your money will be invested in companies or places where it could help the people and the environment around it.
These banks are well known for helping the society and environment, in particular Triodos in known to have made investment in wind power in 1980s before it was known to be a good possible source. |
